Debbie Ahmari is a local downtown Sarasota watercolor artist, originally hailing from Chicago. Ahmari’s education and twenty plus years professional experience were in Miami in the fields of Urban Planning and Interior Design. (For more details see Sarasota Magazine 4/15).
In Ahmari’s art you will see the creative interpretation of city diagrams common in urban planning, as well as her use of the feminine form as a show of strength. Ahmari is a local advocate for all disenfranchised women and youth and is actively involved in making a difference in these important causes.
Other inspirations for Ahmari’s watercolor paintings include the gorgeous florals found in many of the local Sarasota venues such as the Selby and Botanical Gardens. Many of her most noted paintings have recently been turned into note card sets to allow all to enjoy and share her work.
